Industrial training institute is known as ITI, the aim of these educational institutes is to provide vocational training to the students. The Directorate General of Employment and Training, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship lays down the rules and policies for these institutes. All the guidelines for ITI are issued by (DGET). The main motive of these institutes is to provide skilled training to the students and prepare skilled workforce to work in industries.

Every state has different ITI admission process. Candidates who seek admission in ITI 2024, should cross check the eligibility and admission process of their own state. There are many governments and private ITI’s in India. Candidates who are keen to learn vocational training can learn from these institutes and develop special workforce skills. Candidates have to clear All India Trade Test (AITT) to acquire National Trade Certificate, this test is conducted after the candidate has completed his vocational training. 

The admission process in all states begin from June/July/August every year. 

Courses under ITI

There are several courses under ITI. Students can select any training course to develop soft skills. These courses called trade. Each course will aim to develop required skills in the candidate. The duration of one trade(course) ranges from six month to year years. The eligibility criteria will depend on the types of trade selected and the duration period also depends on the type of the trade. 

Students who have cleared class 8th, class 10th or class 12th can apply for ITI courses.

These courses are specially designed so that the candidates do not have to do separate degree or diploma. The admission date 2024 have been out for some states. The application process has started by few states while others have not begun. 

• ITI Registration date for Odisha is from July 8 to 4th August 2024.
• ITI Registration date for West Bengal begins from May 3rd to July 18th 2024.
• The registration date for Maharashtra begins from July 15th 2024. 
• For Uttar Pradesh, the registration starts from 1st August 2024. 
• The first round of registration in Punjab has begun from June 22nd to July 17th 2024. 
• In Andhra Pradesh, the registration has begun from July 8th to 25th 2024. 

Admission process

• Admission process will depend on the state where the candidate is residing. 
• The standard process is to fill the application procedure online by visiting the official website of ITI of that state.  
• Applicants have to fill the registration form and upload the scanned documents.
• Candidates have to provide with valid Email ID. Some states conduct entrance exam like Bihar. 
• The application fees paid by candidate and vary from state to state. The fees range between Rs. 100 to Rs. 550.
